Hello Dennis: Introducing our VP of Business Development

When people hear the term Business Development they often think “sales” and “cold calling”. At NUITEQ®, we believe Business Development goes far beyond that.

Being a Biz Dev entails building strong relations, where a partner’s needs are the top priority. It’s about creating long-term value for both parties. To be successful in this role, you need to have excellent people skills and a lot of confidence. We’re happy to say that within NUITEQ we have great people that occupy the Biz Dev roles. Today we introduce to you: Dennis Mohi.

Q: Hi Dennis, can you tell me a bit more about yourself?

A: Hi there, my name is Dennis Mohi. I’m from New Zealand and have lived in Sweden for the past 7 years. I have two children Ella, who is 13 years old, and Harry, who is 10.

Q: Can you tell me a bit more about your role at NUITEQ®? What's the best part of it and what proves to be the most challenging to you?

A: I have been in a Business Development role at NUITEQ since I joined, nearly 7 years ago. My role entails managing partner relationships across various regions as well as managing a few of our larger Global Key Accounts.

In the past couple of years, I became an owner in the business, which was a great honour and also a reflection of the core values of our company, namely that hard work is rewarded.

The best part of my job is working with the all star NUITEQ team. We share our collective knowledge, which includes learning and identifying changing industry trends that can translate to competitive advantages for our partners and customers. I like to use the grazing cow analogy: we keep moving the cow from one field to another as competitive advantages are only transient in our industry. You must keep your focus on an ever changing market and move and adapt to it or you will get left behind. Another fun aspect of my role is working with our partners and responding with relevant solutions to keep them winning deals in their local markets.

Finding new partners and bringing them into our program is the most challenging part of my job. When a new partner realises the impact our solutions have on their business over time we grow together and both companies flourish.

Q: What motivates you in doing your job?

A: There are many things that motivate me: What is coming next? Artificial Intelligence (AI), Augmented Reality (AR)? How will these new technologies transform our company and our partner’s offerings in the next 5-10 years? The exciting opportunities that lay ahead are what keeps NUITEQ driving forward.

Seeing firsthand learners and teachers using our tools to prepare a new generation of students for the workforce of the future it’s also a big motivator.

Q: Tell us about what occupies your free time.

A: I enjoy reading and I practice lifelong learning of new topics; I have an eclectic Kindle list of e-books. I’m also a passionate rugby fan and try to visit as many games as possible to support the beloved All Blacks - the world champion NZ team.

Sweden is much like NZ with the great outdoors so I try and get out with the children as much as possible. I also enjoy traveling to new places and experiencing the local culture and food. Needless to say, I’m an avid fan of pubs and socialising.
