Mother’s Day Lesson Activities to Use in a Remote Learning Setting

Mother's Day is an annual event encouraging people to show their love and appreciation toward mothers and motherly figures. Mother's Day is held at different dates depending on the country you live in. It is celebrated on the second Sunday of May in many countries, including Australia, Canada and the United States. In Sweden, Mother’s Day will take place on May 31st, 2020.

Believed to have been invented in the early 20th century by American activist Anna Jarvis, Mother’s Day has grown to be a very commercialized holiday. Despite this, at its core, Mother’s Day is an excuse to spoil mothers around the world. Typically, it is celebrated the same way in Sweden as in other countries: by giving flowers, cards or small presents.

One way to teach students about Mother’s Day and its significance is by engaging students with the help of ready-made Snowflake lesson activities created by NUITEQ’s Global Content Department. These fun and educational standards-aligned activities can be sent to your students in a remote learning setting as a way to improve engagement and inspire them this Mother’s Day.

Suitable for students of all ages and levels, Snowflake lesson activities are editable and are great for empowering educators, reducing lesson planning time, and allowing teachers to personalize their curricula to meet the diverse learning needs, strengths, and interests of students.
