Disassembling a TFT monitor for multitouch project

Today Peter disassembled a TFT monitor to see if it was suitable for a new multitouch project, where we use a TFT to display the image, instead of a beamer with a projection screen. The Viewsonic va903b was not suitable, because the FFC cable was not long enough. Theoretically it could have been done if we had ordered a longer fcc cable and by soldered the connections, but still then you would need a microscope to get the job done. Tomorrow we will be disassembling another type of TFT to see if that one is suitable.

The brown L shaped object is the, too short FFC cable. This TFT is not suitable, because the cable is too short if we fold the 2 green strips in a 90 degree angle.
